Shire aggregates supply high quality and free draining silica sand. Silica sand is used for equestrian surfaces, all weather pitches, race tracks, gallops, show jumping areas and dressage. Silica sand offers a firmer but forgiving surface for horses to canter and jump on, enabling good support and therefore reduces the risk of injury to the horses. The rider finds their horse is more responsive and accurate in their movements. Whilst other forms of surface are available, silica sand is considered to be the best. We also sell rubber chips to complement the sand.
